Help you develop new skills (adult education)
20 years ago adult education was delivered through contracts with four colleges in the county along with the Workers Education Association and the Gloucestershire Women’s Institute. A range of classes ran across the county most of which were recreational but with some learning aimed at reaching disadvantaged communities and getting people back into the classroom.
Now with adult education we still offer recreational learning and learning aimed at disadvantaged communities, but we now work with over 15 organisations who deliver most of the learning for us as well as directly delivering classes ourselves. Besides classes that do not lead to a qualification, we now deliver courses that will give the learner a national qualification. We teach a lot of English and Maths as well as courses that lead to other qualifications. We work with employers and run apprenticeships as well as classroom based courses.
